Using Netvibes to Aggregate Course Content

Standard IMS/LMS/VLE platforms such as Blackboard, Desire2learn, Moodle, Angel, and the like are still not very flexible when it somes to aggregating content via RSS feeds. That's where a free service such as Netvibes comes in real handy.

As an example of using Netvives as a content aggregator, I created a page on my public Netvibes site for the this conference ITC eLearning 2009. Go to the ITC09 Netvibes page to see Twitter comments, blog posts, Flickr photos, and other items that have been tagged as ITC09.

You can also do similar things using a wiki (such as this one) and adding Google Gadgets to the page. For example:

A Twitter feed for ITC09:

How about a Delicious feed for items bookmarked ITC09
