Using Delicious for Web-based Bookmarking (also called Social Bookmarking)

From the Delicious website:

How is web-based bookmarking different?

  1. You can access your bookmarks from any computer with an Internet connection.
  2. You can share your bookmarks very easily with other users.
  3. You can tag your bookmarks in any way that makes sense to you, creating folksonomies.
  4. You can see how many other users have also saved the same resource and how they have tagged it.
  5. You can quickly filter/sort or categorize your bookmarks based on the tags applied.
  6. You can discover new sites by browsing bookmarks of other users who are interested in topics that you are interested in.

You can keep your bookmarks private, but most people choose to make them public to be shared with others.

Check out Barry's page of Bookmarks.
